The McGraw Papers are divided into the following twelve series:
Series I, Correspondence has been further subdivided into four subseries.
Subseries A is personal correspondence that includes incoming and outgoing letters, of which some are joint. Subseries A is further divided into A1 Family, A2 Foster Children (financial support through an international agency), A3 Friends and A4 Students.
Subseries B is professional correspondence that includes incoming, outgoing and joint correspondence.
