Vanetta smith biography

With the April 17 DVD release date of Freedom Writers fast approaching, we thought you'd like to get to know a little about one of the film's stars, Vanetta Smith.

The project is based on the book The Freedom Writer's Diary: How a Teacher and Teens Used Writing to Change Themselves and the World Around Them, written by high school teacher Erin Gruwell and her students. This movie made a big splash and, so we think, will Vanetta.
